Q:
In one of the older issues of Telesatellite, you introduced the Galaxis
IRD500. Is this receiver a FTA-type and would it work with scpc?

Dr.Dish:
No, this one is not FTA (free to air) and not able to accept scpc.
Galaxis offers for FTA the model FTA-1 and later in january the FTA-2
for scpc, running from 2 to 45 Msymb/sec. The FTA-1 stores up to 1000
channels (depending on the software-version) has a IF-loop, RS 232 and
aexpansion-port (with MPEG-decrypted data 8-bit takt, status signals and
PC-bus signals). Both types are currently running at the TSI-lab under
test-conditions and results will be published later in 98.
