Channel 5 To Launch On Astra
LONDON, England, 97/04/21 (TS) -- Britain's new terrestrial TV channel,
Channel 5, is to begin broadcasting on the Astra satellite. Many UK viewers
have trouble picking up the station because of interference and a limited
transmitter network but the new service should make it available to anyone
with a satellite antenna.

The channel is expected to be on-air sometime this week, in time for the
May 31 World Cup qualifying soccer match between England and Poland, which
is available live only on Channel 5.
