New Transponder For Telepiu
  ROME, Italy, 96/07/13 (SATELIT TV VIDEO) -- Italian pay-TV giant Telepiu
has leased another transponder on the Eutelsat Hot Bird 1 satellite.  This
transponder (the third that Telepiu is currently using) will be operational
from September 1 will enable Telepiu to transmit a complete package of
channels, as well as live broadcasts of Italian football league matches.

  Telepiu has already reserved 8 transponders on the new satellites Eutelsat
Hot Bird 2, 3 and 4 which will be launched from 1997. The promotional
campain for the new DSTV digital service has started this month throughout
Italy, and Telepiu expects to have 130,000 subscribers by the end of the year.
