- NEWS FROM THE ASTRA-SYSTEM

March looks like being a bad month for viewers of the 1D satellite. Astra
are moving the satellite to the new position for Sky's digital package.

Although ASTRA 1D is being moved, broadcasts will continue on 1D's
frequencies via one of the backup transponder arrays on the other ASTRA
satellites...possibly 1E....viewers should not notice the changeover (CORRECT

Cmt europe is to close soon.

Tv1000 looks as though they have followed Canal+ by downloading a new
management key to all thier official subscribers(NOT MANY THEN), this is an
attempt to knock out previosly available home upgrade cards. Tv1000 is
available on the new Platinum cards priced at around £40.00

Sirius 2 is now available all over europe. The satellite is very powerfull,
and you can currenly find The Sci-fi channel, Kanel Fem and more on the
Sirius 2 satellite broadcasting in D2-mac, and also you should find the
Sci-fi channel working with home upgrade cards which store all known codes.

Eros: Wow thier really turning up the heat lately. They seem to be
introducing more bizzare programmes, and more euro stuff, so it really is
worth subscribing to, although the hours broadcast by the channel each day
at present are only around 3.25minutes.

Best regards

Hello,

the last thing to try before buying a new one is to rinse the LNB with
distilled water. You may take also a mixture of one part pure alcohol
and one part distilled water. Then dry at moderate temperatures.

This should clean all surfaces from the substances which may be
solved in the rain.

Good luck

- PROBLEMS WITH A DIGITAL NOKIA RECEIVER AND A RISKY ADVICE

Sounds like your receiver's display/control CPU does need a reset,
if I were you I'd just call the Nokia folks. Or..have a look inside!
You may be able to identify the reset line to the CPU..then try a
quick momentary hit to ground or +5. I have a Panasonic stereo tuner/
amp that needed this treatment once after a nearby lightening hit.

Be careful! This isn't easy unless you are comfortable with digital
electronics and unafraid to experiment - then again, given the $850 to
$1300 you probably spent on this receiver..a phone call might be cheap
insurance against a possible disaster! ;)
