And now the news:

---------- ALL CHANNELS GREAT AND SMALL
Well it just shows you that anyone is prone to failure in the satellite
market! DMX has finally ceased all transmission via Astra 1A, 1B and 1C.
Having removed the channels from the chart and had a good look, it's
a LOT smaller! Rumours say they've also vacated all the digital channels
on Astra 1E, 1F and the Eutelsat satellites. I'll removed them when I've
got confirmation.
---
Meanwhile, the smaller porn channel, RDV, has seemingly, but not
actually, merged with Eurotica. Last night, on HotBird 2 and II-F3, the
two channels were showing combined programming on RDV's usual
transponders under the name RDV/Eurotica. RDV promos were shown, whilst
Eurotica's subscriptions details and programs were transmitted. RDV says
it hopes to get back soon when it has sorted its D2MAC problems out.
---
And in other news, Astra has changed it promotional on transponder 57 to
its new 1997 version, which it was trying out around 2 months ago. The
new version features information on digital television and radio, as
well as a mention of the Ka-Band and the new orbital hotsport at 28,2
degrees east.
Premiere 2, which was supposedly to have had transponder 11, will now
not be taking it. Bloomberg has given a welcome message to its new Astra
satellite viewers, and the Astra site now lists Bloomberg as the holder
of transponder 11. No Germans here. Nor any indication as to whether
Bloomberg is part of the Sky-Multi Channels, as one of those 'but
they're not encrypted anyway!' channels, like Sky News and CNBC
Europe...
