Transponder 10, 3.875 GHz, Rc, for TB6 has returned to normal strenght
this morning, quality is again good in Cairo (5% sparks).
Yesterday night a message appeared here, saying in Russian and English:
"For the receiving stations of ISSC Intersputnik.
The TV test will take place at 23.01.97 02:00-03:30 (MSK)"
Transponder 15, 4.025 GHz, Rc, AST not available this morning until
Transponder 17, 4.125 GHz, Rc showed an empty carrier, from 12:00 CET
programming of TB3.
Ku transponder K1, 11.525 Rc, NTV, commenced service this morning.

day further testing on this transponder was done, whereby the colorbar
test card dissapeared.
C-Span/Worldnet performed a network test from 08:00 to 08:30 on
transponder 35, 4.050 GHz, Rc, as well as on Intelsat 601, 27.5 West on
transponder 21, 3.740 GHz, Rc. Shown was a test card "USIA-WASH DC".

Kanal D on both beams and frequencies had to take a pause today due to a
recognized violation of the Turkish broadcasting ethics.
Transponder 13, 11.025 GHz, H, and transponder 2L, 11.569 GHz, V.

RTR on transponder 6, 3.675 GHz, Rc, was showing a colorbar testcard in
the morning, programming started from 12:00 CET.

Oman TV on transponder 20, 4.062 GHz, Lc, ceased today. Oman TV is
furtheron receivable from Arabsat 2A on 26 East, transponder 20, 4.140

Yemen TV on transponder 22, 4.180 GHz, Lc, showed no test card in the
early morning. The transponder was switched off. At program start no

The Algerian TV channels on this satellite (transponder 26B, 11.095 GHz,
V) and on the Intelsat 601, 27.5 West (transponder 24, 4.002 GHz, Rc)
are not completely identical, most probably for copyright reasons.
Yesterday evening I could observe Arabic musical entertainment on the
Eutelsat, whereby the Intelsat transmissions showed an American Movie
HOT BIRD 2, 13 East, SATCO-DX: http://www.satcodx.com/hb2.html
The AB-Sat promo channel on transponder 52, 11.766 GHz, V, switched to
the widebeam, which makes excellent reception in the Middle East
Transponder 65, 12.015 GHz, H, has turned itself into a promotional
channel for the Arabesque MPEG 2 package. Until 14:00 CET LBC-Sat,
Lebanon was presented, after that, ART Europa appeared again. As
SATCO-DX reported in his latest updates, a channel "LBC Europa" is
planned. Presently the broadcast is identical to the transmissions from
Arabsat 2A and Panamsat 4.
The Arabesque package consists of three ART channels, LBC-Plus from
Lebanon, and TV 7 from Tunesia.
For the time being the free-to-air ART channels from Arabsat 2A are
still available, whereby the ceasure of the analogue transmissions on Ku
transponder 11, 12.720 MHz, H, should be expected in February.
The C-Band transmissions on transponder 4, 3.782 GHz, Lc, can be
considered as a promotional channel for the ART (Pay-TV) DStv packages.
Carrier tests on the widebeam could be observed on transponder 57,
11.862 GHz, H.

NHK New York used again 12.701 GHz, H, in NTSC, for their ESPN
