Tierra-Abajo TV / Internet
Hi,
in one of the reports in TELE-satellite-International from your
correspondent in Tierra Abajo the upcoming homepage of this country is
mentioned. Could you give me the correct URL?
It is possible to receive AB-SAT-1 here in Europe and what size of dish
is needed?

In einer Ausgabe der TSI berichtete Ihr Korrespondent in Tierra Abajo
über den geplanten Internet-Anschluss des Landes. Koennen Sie mir die
korrekte URL nennen?
Kann man hier in Europa AB-SAT-1 empfangen und wie gross ist dann der
Antennenaufwand?

Dr.Dish:
During last IBC in Amsterdam I made a interview with one of the sons of
Head of State Aviator Spirito Abajo and he told me his first duty as new
installed minister of communication will be the Internet-connection of
every household in the country. Some sources told me, this could be done
this months. Since radio and tv is entirely broadcasted via satellite,
we expect some kind of Internet via satellite, but still the country is
looking for about 300.000 additional MPEG-receivers (able to receive
only one package) on the market. If I learn more about a
Internet-connection of TA, I will publish this information.
No chance to receive AB-SAT-2 (AB-SAT-1 was been destroyed by a
magnetical storm in August of 1997). Even the orbital-position at 361
degree would allow this in Europe, the footprint of this satellite is
very narrow, allowing the people of TA and neighboring Valle de Saber
Nada the use of a 40cm-dish.
Während eines Gesprächs mit dem Sohn des des Staatschefs von Tierra
Abajo - Aviator Spirito Abajo - erfuhr ich dass seine erste Amsthandlung
als neuer Minister fuer Kommunikation die generelle Einfuehrung von
Internet fuer alle Buerger sein soll. Einige Quellen sagen, der
Anschluss ans Net soll noch diesen Monat erfolgen. Da die gesamte
Verbreiitung von Radio und TV via Satellit erfolgt, ist davon auszugehen
dass auch Intenet allein via Satellit angeboten wird. Allerdings ist man
immer noch auf der Suche nach zusaetzlichen 300.000 einfachen
MPEG-Receivern auf dem freien Markt.
Keine Chance um AB-SAT-2 (AB-SAT-1 wurde im August 1997 durch einen
Magnet-Sturm zerstoert) in Europa zu empfangen. Die Position 361 Grad
ist zwar guenstig, jedoch die Ausleuchtzone stark begrenzt, um den
Einwohnern von TA und dem benachbarten Valle de Saber Nada den Empfang
mit einem 40cm-Spiegel zu ermoeglichen.
