HGTV Launches In UK
  LONDON, England, 1997/08/04 (TS) -- Home & Garden Television's
distribution in the United Kingdom has received a major boost with the
launch of a programming block on Granada Television's Good Life Channel.
This announcement represents HGTV's fifth major international distribution
agreement reached within the past year, said the company. Granada
Television will air two hours of branded HGTV programming each weekday, and
three hours on Sunday on the Good Life Channel.

  In August 1996, HGTV was awarded a license to create a 24-hour cable
network in Canada in partnership with the Life Network. HGTV Canada will
launch on September 26, 1997.  In February 1997, HGTV signed an agreement
with NBC Europe to air a block of HGTV branded programming which can be
seen in more than 50 million homes and 350,000 hotel rooms in 44 countries
throughout Europe.  In March 1997, HGTV signed an agreement with Dentsu,
Inc. for the distribution of HGTV branded programming on The Home Channel
in Japan.  In May 1997, HGTV branded programming launched in Australia on
the Odyssey Channel.
