Fox News Channel Signs Cable Deal
  NEW YORK, New York, USA, 96/10/03 (TS) -- Despite the problems it is
having with Time Warner, News Corp. and Cablevision Systems today announced
that Cablevision, the USA's sixth largest cable company, will offer the new
24-hour Fox News Channel (FNC) beginning with its launch on Oct. 7.

  The agreement calls for Cablevision to provide the Fox News Channel to
customers in its major systems including Long Island, Connecticut, New
Jersey, Boston and Greater Cleveland. With this new agreement, the Fox News
Channel will reach more than 14 million cable customers on launch next Monday.

  Headed by Fox News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes, the FOX News Channel will
feature live news updates every half-hour, 24-hours a day, combined with a
mixture of analysis, features and news programs.

  Cablevision is the nation's sixth largest operator of cable television
systems, serving 2.8 million customers in 19 states with major operations in
Boston, Cleveland and the New York metropolitan area, where Cablevision has
1.6 million customers. Its wholly owned subsidiary, Rainbow Programming
manages entertainment, news and sports programming services.

  The Fox News Channel is a general news service covering breaking news as
well as sports, entertainment and business news. The Fox News Channel is
owned by the News Corporation.
