TeleCalcio Planned For Italy
  ROME, Italy, 96/08/21 (TS) -- Details have been announced of Telecalcio,
Telepiu s new venture into Pay-Per-View which will transmit live all Serie A
and Serie B football matches starting September 8. Viewers who want to
subscribe to all 34 matches of their favorite team in Serie A will have to
pay 500,000 lira (300,000 lira for away matches only).

  The cost of a top match in Serie A will be 30,000 lira, while the cost of
a single match in Serie A will be 20,000 lira. Potential subscribers will
also have to invest 1,700,000 for the satellite dish, receiver/decoder,
200-300,000 for installation and 80,000 for the smart-card.

  Telecalcio will be broadcast via the Telepiu leased transponders on the
EUTELSAT satellites at 13 degrees East. Telepiu has reported a big interest
in the new service with 1,500 telephone inquiries daily.
