SATCO DX - Updates 8-14 December

Eros TV on 11,575 V has started regular transmissions in
D2-MAC/Eurocrypt S2, 01-05 CET.

Sci-Fi Channel Scandinavia and EBN - European Business News have
started on 12,322 V, D2-MAC/Eurocrypt M, Nordic beam.

SVT Europa has started on 12,380 H, MPEG-2/clear, SR 27500,
FEC 3/4, European beam.

TV 8 (Sweden) has started on 12,245 V, MPEG-2/clear, SR 27500,
FEC 7/8, Nordic beam.

TV 8 (Sweden) has started on 12,207 V, PAL/clear, Nordic beam.

On 1 December, DirecTV Japan started a package of 63 TV channels
in MPEG-2/Videoguard.

AsiaNet has left 3,545 V.

Inner Mongolia TV and National Mongolia TV have started on 3,840 R,
MPEG-2, SR 8398, FEC 3/4.


--- Arabsat 1C -> Insat 2R:  http://www.satcodx.com/in2r.shtml
Arabsat 1C has recently been sold to ISRO (India) and renamed to
Insat 2R. It's currently moving east and will replace the failed
Insat 2D at 74 East. A complete transponder layout and links to
new footprint maps have been added to the satellite chart.

The Weather Channel Latin America is now on 3,840 H, MPEG-2/PowerVu.
From 8 Dec. to 8 Jan., they are on both PAS 3R and PAS 5, but will
only be on PAS 5 from 8 Jan.

DISH Network is testing on 11 tps, with a copy of what's
on Echostar 1/2, MPEG-2/Nagravision, SR 20000, FEC 3/4.

Galaxy 8i was successfully launched with Atlas at 23:52 UTC on
8 December.
It will be co-located with Galaxy 3R at 95 West, with its 32 Ku
tps in 11,450-11,950 GHz. Official transmissions seem to start in
February, and add 300 more TV channels for DirecTV Latin America.
A footprint map is available on the "Satellite Launches" page.

Gorizont 33 is scheduled to launch on 7 January with Proton.

Nilesat 1 and Insat 2E will be launched together with Ariane V108
in April.


====== INTERNAL:
SATCO DX will celebrate two years on Tuesday 16 December!
The 600.000 mark on the main page was passed the last week,
500.000 visitors for the last year...


--- Footprint maps - info:
There are links to freely available footprint maps to almost all
satellites worldwide at SATCO DX. Just click on the beam name to
the right of the charts and you will get the footprint map!

SATCO DX is crosslinking to TSE - The Satellite Encyclopedia, which
has its own set of footprint maps. Almost all of them are password
protected. For information about how to get passwords for them, or
to know more about TSE, please visit that service or ask the webmaster
there. TSE is a separate service.
