SATCO DX Satellite Chart - Updates 14-27 April

Classics! promos have started on 3,875 R, PAL

Channel 5 (UK) has started on 10,921 H (tp 63), PAL/Videocrypt 1
This is UK's 5th terrestrial national channel, soft-encrypted via
satellite.

A lot of PIDs have been added to the remaining missing channels.

Euro 7 was on both 11,080 H and 11,678 H, 12-13 CET for a while,
but has now left these tps temporarily.

RTM 1 has replaced VH-1 on 12,708 V, MPEG-2

- AB Sat on fire!
AB Sats digital service was halted by damage from a fire, which broke
out at approximately 17.30 CET, on Thursday, 24 April. Transmissions
from the AB Sat digital DTH service has been temporarily halted,
but Groupe AB expected to resume transmissions by Saturday.

AB Sat's digital transmission equipment and tape storage facility were
not damaged by the fire, though the satellite uplink facility had minor
damage and will have to be repaired. Neither AB Sat's subscriber
management service, which is externally provided by France Telecom,
nor the delivery of decoders to retailers were disrupted.

Thaicom 3 and BSAT 1A were successfully launched with Ariane V95
on 16 April at 23.08 UTC. Thaicom 3 will replace Thaicom 1 at 78.5
East in May, while Thaicom 1 will move to 120 East. BSAT 1A will
replace BS 3B at 110 East.

Tempo 2 has moved to its final location at 118.8 West,
after testing at 109.5 West.

Telstar 5 on 24 May with Proton

ST 1 (Taiwan) in February 1998 with Ariane 5
Sky 2 in March 1998 with Atlas
Galaxy 10 in April 1998 with Delta

Agila 1 in 1998, to be located at 161 East
Garuda 1 (Indonesia) in late 1998
