And now the news:

---------- THOR 2 LAUNCHED!!!!
(information from TS-News)
The Thor 2 satellite was successfully launched yesterday into
geosynchronous orbit from Complex 17A at Cape Canaveral, Florida at
18.39 EDT. The satellites will have a lifetime of around 11 years and
supply up to around 75 channels for Scandinavia. It will soon, after
tests, be positioned with Thor at 0,8w.

To receive Thor 2 in the UK, it is estimated that a 1,5 metre dish is
required. Most (if not all) channels will be transmitted in the MPEG-2
standard, so only the luckier UK satellite system owners will get a
glimpse for now.
