Showtime announces the "Big Movies Weekend" which takes place on The
Movie Channel from March 13th to 15th.

Anyone equipped with MPEG2 DVB box in the region will be able to access 
a whole weekend of great movies for FREE, and there is more...
Showtime has decided to extend the free period across the whole Showtime
Network. Suitably equipped viewers such as those subscribing to ART via
Panamsat will be able to access a whole range of great Western
entertainment channels including TV Land, Paramount, VH-1, MTV and the
recently launched women's interest channel "Style".

Kazahk TV on transponder 115, 11.550 GHz, V and Khabar TV on transponder
69, 11.650 GHz, V, are transmitting their broadcasts lately in PAL.

Transponder 15, 4.044 GHz, Rc, was operated today with feeds, for the
first time by me observed. Furtheron again the 3.995 GHz, Right Circular
transmission to Quatar.

TV Mauretania on  transponder 9, 3.876 GHz, Rc, and  RTM 1, Marocco on
transponder 11, 3.925 GHz, Rc, do not use test cards during the programm
free time, both channels shows a blank carrier only.
The quality of Mauretania TV on 26/02 was poor tonight, both in picture
and sound.

HOT BIRD 1, 13 East, http://www.satcodx.com/hb1.html

TV Polonia on transponder 13, 11.474 Ghz, H, will today (26/02) at 17.15
CET and tomorrow (27/02) at 9.00 CET transmit the first programming with
English subtitling in TeleText, available on page number 888.
The aim of TV Polonia is to broadcast major program contents with
English, French and German subtitling, to the end of this year.

In between everybody will have seen the appearance of the Polsat 2
testcard on the previous MPEG-2 Telepiu transponder 7, 11.345 GHz, H.
Program start can be expected in the next days; the PAL broadcasts are
supposed to stay in the clear, with a subcarrier on 6.60 Mhz.

Full power has been restored to transponder 111X, the IBA 4 feed
transmissions on 10.968 GHz, V, are strong and clear as before. However
some changes should be expected.

A card has been shown on IBA channel 3 with several messages concerning
further broadcasts after 01/03/97 with frequency and satellite position
data.
As the text was in Hebrew, I can unfortunately not report details today. 
Maybe one of the Israeli readers of SAT-MidEast, who has also seen the
messages, is so kind to submit a brief translation, I would be grateful!

The Egyptian MPEG-2 package on 4,135 GHz, Lc, with the channels: ESC-1,
Nile TV, Egypt Al-Oula, Egypt Al-Thania, has following reception data:
SR 26950, FEC 3/4.

INTELSAT 705, 18 West, http://www.satcodx.com/i705.html

On frequency of 4.166 Ghz, Rc, can regular feeds for Kuwait TV be
observed in NTSC from Washington. The quality of picture and sound on
6.60 Mhz, is good.

Also here Cyprus attention: CNBC and MSNBC on 11.137 GHz, V, MPEG-2

INTELSAT 801, XX.X East, http://www.satcodx.com/launches.html

Ariane flight V94 will bring the latest Intelsat onto his geostationary
position with a re-scheduled launch on 27/28 February. The launch window
opens at 01:16 to 02:10 CET, Friday. For the final position I still have
3 info's e.g. 62 East, 64 East and 174 East. I personally bet on the
middle one, and will keep you informed about the final outcome.
