MTV UNPLUGGED:

Saturday 1 February 1997 @ 23:00-23:30 &
Wednesday 5 February 1997 @ 00:00-00:30: Mariah Carey
Singer/songwriter Mariah Carey, known for her phenomenal vocal range, burst
onto the music scene in 1990 with her debut album "Mariah Carey" and went
on to win two Grammy Awards in 1991 for Best New Artist and Best Female
Pop Vocal Performance.

For MTV UNPLUGGED, Mariah performs "Visions Of Love", "Someday", "Emotions",
"Make It Happen", "If It's Over" and the Jackson 5 Song "I''ll Be There".

"I''ll Be There" was released as part of an Unplugged EP and shot
straight to the top of the charts on both sides of the Atlantic.

Mariah Carey's is a fairtale story - in just over three years,
she has emerged as one of today's premier top divas - even she finds it
difficult to believe, "Sometimes I have to stop and reflect on all
that's happened to me... I'm really living a dram, because this is whay I
wanted to do throughout my entire life. Honestly I have never wanted
to do anything alse but be a singer and songwriter".

Saturday 1 February 1997 @ 23:30-00:00 &
Wednesday 5 February 1997 @ 00:30-01:00: MTV R& B Unplugged:
Boyz II Men / Shanice / Joe Public
Song Selections include: 'I Miss You' (Joe Public), 'I Love Your Smile'
(Shanice) and 'Please Don't Go' (Boyz II Men).

Saturday 8 February 1997 @ 23:00-00:00 &
Wednesday 12 February 1997 @ 00:00-00:30: The Cure

With their gloom-rock vibe and singer Robert Smith's terminally
black eyes and wardrobe, The Cure would have seemed to be the band
least likely to embrace the fun side of Unplugged. Perhaps
for this very reason, this show was one of Unplugged's most
exciting and memorable. The group reached into it's bag
tricks and pulled out a toy piano and a xylophone - not
to mention arming the audience with kazoos - to help add
a dimension thay far too many fans of the band fail to see. At one
point, Robert pulled out a violin and said, "I think people would
appreciate thay I have been taking violin lessons." Next
thing you know, he's making wil scratching noises - he didn't
know to play it after all.

MTV Unplugged with The Cure wsa taped at Limehouse Studios in
London, England in January 1991. Tracks performed
include "Lets Go To Bed", "Just Like Heaven", "The Caterpillar",
"The Blood", "Boys Don't Cry", "The Walk" and "If Only Tonight
We Could Sleep".

Saturday 15 February 1997 @ 22:00-23:00 &
Wednesday 20 February 1997 @ 00:00-01:00: Pearl Jam

One of the hottest bands to emerge from the musical hotbed of Seatlle,
Pearl Jam was riding high on the success of their debut album "Ten",
at the time of taping. The UNPLUGGED song selection includes their smash hit
single "Alice", "State Of Love & Lust", "Jeremy", "Even Flow",
"Black" and "Porch". This MTV Unplugged session is recorded in New York
in 1992.

Saturday 22 February 1997 @ 23:00-00:00 &
Wednesday 26 February 1997 @ 00:00-01:00: K. D. Lang

K.D.'s transformation from torch and twang of her country material
to the silky timeless feel of her Grammy-winning album "Ingenue" was
never more apparent than during this taping. Everything gelled
perfectly: lights, sound, the set, the music, it felt like stepping
back into the Big Band era of musical history. Later k.d. guested
at the Tony Bennett Unplugged taping adding more nostalgia to
her repertoire.

This edition of Unplugged was taped at the Ed Sullivan Theatre
in New York City on 16th December 1992. The set included
"Save Me", "The Mind Of Love", "Still Thrives This Love",
"Miss Chatelaine", Season Of Hollow Soul", "So It Shall
Be", "Outside Myself", "Washing MeClean", "Costant Craving",
"Black Coffee", "Crying" (Written by Roy Orbison), "So In Love"
(written by Cole Porter) and "Barefoot".
